Before calling, you can better ftp to ftp.dps-inc.com /pub/DPS/
There are the upgrades for the DPS products (PAR, TBC) since a few weeks.
If you can't ftp, I could email it to you.
Does anybody use the latest Amiga PAR software, 2.51?
I can't get it to work. The problem has something to do with the PAR_PAL.HEX
file, which is a new one compared with the hex file from 2.50.
Further, if you get the newer software, check if the banding in linear fills is
worse. My observation is that at a certain upgrade around 2.2x DPS decreased
JPEG compression (f.e. same frame went from 80Kb to 90Kb), which made the
details sharper, but also screwed up linear fills, such as the Lightwave sky.
I still use 1.89, which I got with my PAR march 1994, for that reason when
using non-texture-mapped surfaces. Could somebody check this with another PAL
PAR or even also with NTSC (maybe it has something to do with the better colour
encoding of PAL). Scott Bennett?
